Is trading used licenses really legal?

Yes — unequivocally and triple-confirmed. CJEU C-128/11 (2012), BGH I ZR 129/08 (2013) and CAT [2025] CAT 75 (November 2025) have established the exhaustion principle for software licenses. Reselling lawfully acquired perpetual licenses is legally permitted in the EU (§ 69c No. 3 S. 2 UrhG), provided the UsedSoft conditions are met.

Which documents do I receive with each transaction?

The complete five-document package: (1) proof of origin, (2) uninstallation confirmation, (3) purchase agreement, (4) transfer record, (5) license transfer certificate — plus a copy of the original acquisition proof. All documents are directly passable on to your end customers for audit situations.

Do you sell directly to end customers?

No — never. Lumeon Code UG operates exclusively in B2B wholesale. We sell only to IT distributors, system houses and resellers. Direct sales to end customers are structurally excluded to avoid channel competition with our partners.

What is the difference to subscription licenses?

We trade exclusively in perpetual (permanent) volume licenses — no subscriptions, no SaaS, no rental models. This distinction is legally decisive: only perpetual licenses fall under the exhaustion principle and may be resold.

How long does a typical transaction take?

Offer within 24 hours of inquiry. Complete transactions — verification of the documentation chain, contract signing, handover — typically take between two and seven business days. Complex large lots may take longer — we communicate timelines transparently.

Can I also sell licenses to you?

Yes. If your company or one of your customers has surplus perpetual licenses (after cloud migration, restructuring etc.), we are happy to buy. Just ask — we will review product, license type and documentation and submit an offer.

Which countries do you supply?

All EU/EEA countries and the UK. As software licenses are transferred digitally, there are no physical shipping restrictions. Documentation is issued in German or English — other languages on request.
